Privacy Policy Terms of Use Lifetime Premium

1. About Lifetime Premium

Gradient may offer Lifetime Premium as a one-time in-app purchase.

Lifetime Premium unlocks Premium features in Gradient for as long as Gradient is supported and available in a compatible version for your device, subject to these Terms, the App Store terms, and any technical or legal limits.

“Lifetime” means the lifetime of the Gradient product/service, not your lifetime, the lifetime of your device, or an indefinite promise that every feature will exist forever.

2. What Lifetime Premium may include

Lifetime Premium may include features such as:

  • unlimited or expanded assessment results;
  • advanced insights and progress trends;
  • period reviews;
  • widgets;
  • sync or backup features;
  • Focus Restrictions;
  • additional reports;
  • Premium-only visualisations;
  • other paid features added to Gradient.

The exact features may change over time as Gradient develops.

Some features may depend on device support, operating-system support, Apple permissions, Supabase availability, App Store rules, or third-party services.

3. Free plan limits

Gradient may offer a free plan with limits, such as a maximum number of assessment results or restricted access to Premium features.

If you reach a free-plan limit, you may need Lifetime Premium to continue adding more data or accessing Premium features.

We aim to let free users continue viewing existing data where reasonable, but some features may remain locked.

4. Payment

Lifetime Premium is purchased through Apple In-App Purchase.

Apple handles payment processing, taxes where applicable, billing records, receipts, and refund requests.

We do not receive your full credit-card number or Apple ID password.

Apple’s documentation explains that non-consumable in-app purchases, such as a pro upgrade, may be restorable, while consumable purchases generally cannot be restored.

5. Restoring purchases

If you reinstall Gradient, change device, or lose Premium access, you may be able to restore your purchase using Apple’s restore-purchase system.

You must use the same Apple Account used for the original purchase, unless Apple’s Family Sharing or other Apple mechanisms apply.

We cannot guarantee restoration where Apple cannot verify the purchase, the purchase was refunded, the Apple Account is unavailable, or the app is no longer available or supported.

6. Refunds

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.

To request a refund, use Apple’s refund process. Apple explains that App Store and iTunes Store purchases may be eligible for a refund request through Apple.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law or another applicable consumer protection law.

7. What Lifetime Premium does not guarantee

Lifetime Premium does not guarantee:

  • that Gradient will operate forever;
  • that all current features will remain unchanged forever;
  • that every feature will work on every device;
  • that Gradient will remain compatible with every future iOS, iPadOS, or macOS version;
  • that third-party services will remain available forever;
  • that you will achieve any academic result;
  • that Focus Restrictions will block every distraction;
  • that sync will never fail;
  • that deleted data can be recovered.

8. Feature changes

We may update, improve, rename, replace, remove, or restructure Premium features.

We will try not to remove the core value of Lifetime Premium unfairly. However, changes may be necessary for security, technical, legal, App Store, platform, device, or third-party-service reasons.

9. Account-based Premium grants

Some users, including active beta testers, may receive Lifetime Premium without purchasing it.

These grants may be tied to a Gradient account rather than an Apple purchase.

Account-based Premium grants are discretionary, non-transferable, and may be removed if granted by mistake, obtained through misuse, or associated with a deleted account.

If your account is deleted after inactivity or by request, an account-based Premium grant may be permanently lost unless we choose to restore it.

10. Beta tester Premium rewards

Active beta testers may receive Lifetime Premium at our discretion.

“Active” may include providing meaningful feedback, reporting bugs, testing features, responding to requested checks, or otherwise helping improve Gradient.

Simply joining TestFlight, downloading a beta build, or creating an account does not automatically guarantee Lifetime Premium unless we clearly say otherwise in writing.

11. Transferability

Lifetime Premium is personal to the Apple Account or Gradient account through which it was purchased or granted.

You may not sell, transfer, trade, share, sublicense, or assign Lifetime Premium except where Apple systems, such as Family Sharing, allow it.

12. Abuse and misuse

We may suspend or remove Premium access if you:

  • bypass payment systems;
  • tamper with receipts or entitlements;
  • misuse beta grants;
  • exploit bugs to obtain Premium;
  • breach the Terms of Use;
  • use Gradient unlawfully.

13. Discontinuation

If Gradient is discontinued, removed from sale, or no longer supported, Lifetime Premium will end when the app or relevant Premium service can no longer reasonably be provided.

Where required by law, you may have rights or remedies if paid services are not supplied with due care and skill, are not fit for purpose, or do not match what was promised.
